The concept of using concrete pavers as roof ballast, plaza deck
and terrace pavers has created new opportunities for otherwise lost space. Roofs and Decks can now be functional, as well
as attractive when viewed from higher elevations. Hanover® Prest® Pavers provide durability, protection and performance
for the roof system from harsh weather conditions.
The popularity of energey-efficient roofs, or Green Roofs, is
increasing as its value is appreciated. Hanover® is developing a series of pavers that provide reflectance and emissive
values providing great performance to the Green Roof concept.
Hanover® offers a solution for all roofing/waterproofing needs — from Standard Walkway and Roof Ballast, to Architectural
Plazas and Green Roofs. A textured Tudor® finish gives slip resistant properties and by elevating the pavers, water is
channeled away from the surface. Safer than gravel ballast, Hanover® pavers make roofs and plazas safe for pedestrians and
simplify repairs. Roof ballast, functional design, color and durability all come together with Hanover® roof and deck
pavers.
Hanover® Roofs and Plaza Pavers allow easy access to the roof and waterproofing system for making
repairs or standard maintenance procedures. Hanover® offers several pedestal/shims,
leveling, and elevated systems for all
of your plaza deck needs. Whether your project is a roof, deck, plaza or terrace,
Hanover® roof pavers are serviceable, functional and attractive.

several waterproofing manufacturers.
Green Roofs
The popularity of energy-efficient roofs, or Green Roofs, is increasing as its
value is appreciated. The intention of the Green Roof concept is to take otherwise heat producing areas, such as rooftops and
plazas, and provide a cooler environment. The result is a cooler roof decreasing the buildingís energy consumption and
reducing the ìheat islandî effect. The Green Roof concept has seen wide spread acceptance within the construction community.
Hanover® Prest® Pavers work hand in hand with Green Roof assemblies to provide environmental benefits and
aesthetically appealing rooftop or plaza gardens. From planted areas which incorporate topsoil and mulch to grassy
areas over a layer of soil or lightweight gravel fill, Hanover® Pavers can become an integral part of these lush
landscape designed roofs. Pavers can be used to create walkways, terraces or seating areas while providing positive drainage.
Hanover® is developing a series of pavers that provide reflectance and emissive values providing great performance to the Green
Roof concept. Hanover's Glacier White has a reflectance value of 0.655 and emissivity value of 0.90. These values are a
critical element in the roofís ability to reduce heat consumption into the structure below. Although the 0.655 and 0.90 are
target values, Hanover® manufactures a variety of pavers that provide both reflective and emissivity values. Some are
less than the target value, but still provide a reflective or emissive value. Hanover® Architectural Products is in the
process of developing additional colors that will satisfy the 0.655 and 0.90 requirement. In all cases, Hanover® Prest®
Pavers can be an integral part of achieving the LEEDS point requirements for Green Roof designs.
